Grace Mumbe, top girl at Kathiani Girls addressing the press.

Song and dance reigned at Kathiani Girls High School after the candidate class attained a mean score of 8.4 in the 2023 KCSE examinations.

The stellar performance will see 285 out of 305 girls will join the university.

Top student, Grace Mumbe who scored Grade A of 81 points, attributed the success to her dedication, commitment and focus which also led to the tough decision to relinquish her position as Secretary in the Sanitation Department.

“I faced some challenges but when I prioritized my academic performance over leadership. I learnt that when things get tough it’s okay to let go of some things,” Mumbe said.

“After all I am a leader whether in a leadership position or not, so I can say it was tough but I’m glad my efforts paid off thanks to everyone who held my hand,” she added.
