Kathiani Girls in Machakos maintains good performance in national examinations

Kathiani Girls High School Principal Damaris Munyao has said that the school performed well in 2024 KCSE recording 85 per cent transition to university.

The institution has retained its position as the top school in the county for the fifth consecutive year.

She spoke when the school’s Board of Management Chair Dr Daniel Yumbya visited the school recently.

On his part Dr Yumbya has urged school boards to play a proactive role in supporting schools to achieve exceptional results.

“Board members should work collaboratively with Principals to address issues instead of becoming an additional burden. By tackling problems together, we can foster a positive environment for learning,” he stated.

Dr Yumbya further encouraged board members to actively engage with schools by visiting, interacting with students, and motivating them. 

Addressing the issue of teacher shortages, Dr Yumbya called on the government to prioritise the deployment of more teachers to understaffed schools, ensuring adequate support for learners.
