Kajiado County Government Chief Officer Education Samson Parashina has said they have put in place a system that will ensure that bursaries are given on time and the money doesn’t get lost.
In the last financial year there were complains of some beneficiaries allocated more than three times.
Parashina accepted that there were such mistakes stating they will not be able to reverse the money since it has already been sent to the institutions.
“We receive the list from the MCAs with reasons why they gave the individuals and minutes of the meetings, they have the final say, they know the beneficiaries since they do the vetting,” he said.
County Government had released sh 40 million out ofsh 80 Million allocated in the 2018/2019 Financial Year.
The bursary programme was launched in the five sub counties across the county More than 5,700 students benefited.
