- Kabete National Polytechnic has won eight awards at the 2026 Nairobi International Trade Fair, including first place as Best Tertiary-Level Education Institution.
- The institution has securedsecond-place finishes in media services, telecommunications, foreign exhibition stands and property, alongside third-place wins in water management, data services and hospitality.
Kabete National Polytechnic has emerged among the standout institutions at the 2026 Nairobi International Trade Fair after securing eight awards across education, technology, hospitality, media, property and environmental services.
The polytechnic claimed first position as the Best Tertiary-Level Education Institution Other Than a University, marking the institution’s strongest recognition at the ongoing trade fair.
Kabete National Polytechnic also finished second in several categories, including Best Stand in Media Services, Best Manufacturer and Distributor of Telecommunication Devices, Equipment and Service Providers (Telecom), Best Foreign Exhibition Stand, and Best Stand in Property and Real Estate. The institution further secured third positions in Water and Waste Management Services, Display in Data and Mobile Services under the telecommunications category, and Hospitality and Catering Services.

The eight awards were announced on the second day of the Nairobi International Trade Fair, which is being held at the Jamhuri Park Showground. The annual fair, organised by the Agricultural Society of Kenya (ASK), is being held under the theme “Promoting Climate Smart Agriculture and Trade Initiatives for Sustainable Economic Growth.” It has brought together exhibitors from agriculture, manufacturing, technology, finance, education and other sectors, with more than 500 exhibitors expected at this year’s edition.
Kabete National Polytechnic’s performance places technical and vocational education prominently at a trade fair traditionally associated with agriculture and commerce, while showcasing the institution’s work across diverse technical and service areas. The polytechnic said the awards are a testament to its continued commitment to providing technical education and developing practical skills that respond to the needs of Kenya’s workforce and industry.

The recognition comes as the 2026 trade fair provides exhibitors with a platform to showcase innovations, products and services while creating opportunities for business engagements, knowledge exchange and networking.
