Wandumbi Special School, which has a total of 171 students (80 girls and 91 boys), received maize, rice, cooking oil, mattresses, blankets, and bed sheets.

Speaking during the event, Mukami underscored the importance of creating a conducive learning environment for vulnerable children.

“These children deserve our love and support. As leaders and community members, it is our duty to ensure they have the resources they need to thrive,” Mukami said.

She also called on well-wishers and corporate entities to support special schools like Wandumbi, which face significant challenges in meeting the dietary and accommodation needs of children with disabilities.

The school’s head teacher, Thiong’o Wachira, thanked Mukami for her timely intervention, noting that the institution has been struggling with a shortage of essential supplies.

Students were elated by the donation.

“This donation will ensure our students are well-fed and sleep comfortably. We deeply appreciate Mukami’s generosity and commitment to the welfare of children with special needs,” he said.

Wachira further lauded Mukami’s advocacy for the inclusion and empowerment of special needs institutions, urging her to continue championing policies that address the needs of children with disabilities.
