Annastacia Nduku, a Form Three student at Machakos Girls High School is in despair after being sent home due to high fee arrears that are continuing to accumulate.
The girl hailing from Kenya Israel in Machakos town told Education News that her mother, a single parent, has a mental condition and cannot provide for her.
All through primary school and so far in high school, she has been relying on well-wishers to support her learning.
Her arrears at Machakos Girls have accumulated to over Ksh 100,000 forcing the school to send her home.
She had a well-wisher who was supporting her education but recently went mute, throwing her family in a state of limbo.
The girl noted that her dream is to be a lawyer and would appreciate any help that comes her way.
Her aunt, Rosemary Ngina, said the girl is the only hope of saving the family from the shackles of poverty and urged people of goodwill to lend a helping hand.
“A little help can go a long way so that the girl can go back to school and not lag as her mates are in class. I would wish the local leaders can hear our cry and come to our aid,” said the aunt.

Well-wishers who might want to chip in and secure the girl’s future can contact Machakos Girls High School.
