Orero Boys High School in Homa Bay County has released comprehensive reopening guidelines for students and parents, outlining strict reporting procedures aimed at ensuring a smooth and orderly resumption of learning following the school’s temporary closure.
In a circular, Chief Principal Thomas Otieno emphasized that only students who have fully complied with the school’s reopening requirements will be admitted during the reporting exercise.
The administration noted that all teachers will be fully engaged throughout the process, making it impossible to accommodate exceptional or exemption cases during the first three days of reporting.
The school has adopted a phased reporting schedule to manage the return of learners.
Form Three students are expected to report on Monday, June 29, 2026, followed by Form Two students on Tuesday, June 30, 2026. Form One and Form Four students will report on Wednesday, July 1, 2026.
All students and their parents or guardians are required to report between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. according to the schedule provided by the school administration.

According to the guidelines, only students who have fully met the stipulated requirements will be allowed into the institution during the designated reporting days.
Parents seeking special consideration or exemptions have been advised to communicate with class teachers in advance and present their cases on Thursday or Friday after the scheduled reporting period.
The administration has also stressed the importance of adhering to the set timelines to avoid inconveniencing other parents and to facilitate the smooth coordination of joint meetings and admission procedures.
“Dear parents, we need to get the procedure of the reopening right so that we don’t have missteps,” the principal stated in the notice.
The reopening plan comes as the school seeks to restore normal learning activities while maintaining order and ensuring that all students return under clearly defined procedures.
School officials have called on parents and guardians to cooperate fully with the directives to guarantee a successful reopening process.
The phased return is expected to see all learners back in class by July 1, paving the way for the continuation of academic programs and school activities.
