Former Musingu High School captain and Kenyan youth international Annan Okumu made an emotional return to his former school alongside Harambee Stars defender Joseph Okumu, his elder brother, as they visited The Scorpions ahead of the upcoming Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) games.
The visit sparked excitement and motivation among players and teachers at the Kakamega based football giants, with the two footballers encouraging the team to remain disciplined, focused, and united as they prepare for the national competition.
Emotional homecoming
For Annan Okumu, the homecoming carried special significance.
The talented player completed his Form Four studies at Musingu High School last year after enjoying a successful football journey with the school team. During his time at the institution, he played a key role in the rise of The Scorpions and emerged as one of the most promising young football talents in the country.
Speaking to the players, Mr Annan Okumu challenged them to remain committed both on the pitch and in class, noting that school football can open doors to bigger opportunities locally and internationally.
Discipline and hard work
Mr Joseph Okumu, one of Kenya’s most celebrated defenders playing professional football abroad, reminded the students that discipline, hard work, and humility remain the foundation of success in football and life.
