Kakamega School’s Green Commandos will, on Sunday, September 13, hold a thanksgiving ceremony and gala awards at the school to celebrate their outstanding success in the Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) national boys’ football championship.
The colourful event will bring together players, coaches, school management, teachers, students, parents, alumni and other stakeholders who have contributed to the team’s success.
The celebrations will provide an opportunity to honour the players and technical bench for their impressive campaign, which saw the Green Commandos emerge as national champions and reaffirm Kakamega School’s position as one of the country’s leading institutions in school football.
The gala will also recognise individuals and partners whose support has played a key role in nurturing the team’s talent and sustaining its football programme.

Beyond celebrating the trophy, the thanksgiving ceremony is expected to inspire the current crop of players and younger learners to maintain the culture of excellence, discipline and teamwork that has continued to define the Green Commandos.
The achievement has further enhanced Kakamega School’s reputation in Kenyan school sports, with the institution continuing to serve as an important platform for identifying and developing young football talent.
