The government has been urged to use teachers to sensitize people on the importance of taking the Covid 19 vaccine.
Kapomboi Member of County Assembly Benard Malipuko said teachers are the most trusted agents to sensitize the public to avert misinformation concerning the jab.
Speaking in Namajalala Primary school, Malipuko said the public in Trans Nzoia County were afraid of taking the vaccine because of fear.
He called upon the Ministry of Health to collaborate with the Ministry of Education so as to utilize the expertise of tutors in demystifying the misconceptions surrounding the vaccine.
“Teachers are well placed for the task given the trust by the public on the educators,’ he said.
Namajalala primary school head teacher Rosemary Achitsa said maintaining social distance among learners is the biggest challenge they encounter in meeting the Ministry of Health protocols.
