Governor Barasa gifts Kakamega schools representing in KSSSA nationals

The County government of Kakamega has celebrated the outstanding achievements the school teams from Kakamega County made in the regional KSSSA games.

Kakamega governor Fernandes Barasa while addressing the teams at Bukhungu on Monday gifted each team that qualified for the nationals with some cash ans promised to continue offering his support.

These exceptional teams are gearing up to represent the County in the National games, set to commence in Kakamega from today.

In supporting the efforts of the teams, each of them, including Koyonzo High School boys’ rugby, Shanderema Secondary School boys’ football, St. Mathius Mwitoti secondary school girls volleyball, and Butere girls soccer, received a sum of Ksh. 100,000.

The event was attended by the Kakamega County Assembly Majority Leader Hon. Philip Maina, various County officials led by Waziri Lawrence Omuhaka, Kakamega KNUT chairman Mr. Patrick Chungani, and Principals from the respective schools.

The national school games kicks off today in Kakamega.

Kakamega High School, Bukhungu Stadium, St Ignatius, Mukumu Boys, St Peter’s Seminary –Mukumu, Kakamega Approved School and Masinde Muliro University will collectively host the thrilling Kenya Secondary School Sports Association (KSSSA) games starting from today.

Pool ‘A’- Butere vs Dagoretti, Njambini vs Kombani

Pool ‘B’- Madira vs Mbitini, Lwaka vs Wiyeta

Boys Football

Pool ‘A’- Shanderema vs North Eastern, Agoro Sare vs Kiragani

Pool ‘B’- St Anthony’s Kitale vs Matiliku, Dagoretti vs Serani
