  • The school emerged champions of the 2026 Trans Nzoia Secondary Schools football championship.

The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Trans Nzoia Branch Chairman Isaac Munene has congratulated St. Anthony’s Boys Kitale after the school emerged champions of the 2026 Trans Nzoia Secondary Schools football championship.

In a message celebrating the team’s success, Munene praised the former national champions for their discipline, composure and winning mentality throughout the tournament, culminating in a hard-fought 1-0 victory over arch-rivals St. Joseph’s Boys Kitale in the county final.

He said St. Anthony’s demonstrated the character of true champions by overcoming challenges during the competition and remaining focused on their ultimate goal of reclaiming the county crown.

“Your discipline, composure and winning mentality shone through in the final. You’ve done Trans Nzoia proud,” Munene said.

The FKF chairman noted that the triumph was a reward for the players’ commitment, hard work and determination, qualities that enabled them to rise above a highly competitive field and secure the prestigious title.

Munene further lauded the coaching staff, teachers and supporters for their role in guiding the team to success, describing the victory as a collective achievement for the school community.

With the county title secured, St. Anthony’s Boys will now represent Trans Nzoia at the Rift Valley regional championships in Narok, carrying the hopes of the county as they seek further success on the national stage.

Munene expressed confidence in the team’s ability to compete at a higher level and urged them to continue displaying the discipline and character that earned them the county championship.

“Trans Nzoia is behind you. Go and fly our county flag high at the regional games,” he said.

The victory marks a significant return to the top for St. Anthony’s Boys, reaffirming the school’s status as one of Kenya’s football powerhouses and setting the stage for an exciting regional campaign.
