Fire destroys section of dorm at school in Machakos

A fierce fire broke out early this morning at Muvuti Boys High School in Machakos County, destroying a section of the school’s dormitory.

According to reports, the fire started while students were in their classrooms for morning preps when a thick smoke and flames were seen spreading through the dormitory.

Machakos County Government firefighters arrived promptly and managed to put out the fire before it could spread to other parts of the school.

Their quick response helped to contain the damage to the dormitory section.

The area Assistant Chief Elizabeth Mwangangi stated that the cause of the fire is still unknown, but investigations are ongoing.

She emphasized that the safety of students and staff is a top priority and measures will be taken to prevent future incidents.

Fortunately, no students or staff were injured in the blaze that left the students and teachers shocked.

Meanwhile in Makueni County, police were forced to calm down boys at Kasikeu high school who had gone on rampage and destroyed property.

The boys went berserk and broke windows complaining of unfavorable conditions as well as pointing a finger at the institution administration for not listening to their challenges.

The students have since been allowed to go home until further notice with the school being closed indefinitely.
