Kwanthanze and Kesogon Mixed Secondary school have made it to the Girls’ Volleyball semi-finals at the ongoing East African Secondary School games after attaining victory on Monday, 19th September in Arusha, Tanzania.
Kwanthanze who are the five times East African volleyball champions, defeated Hilton High school of Uganda in a straight set (25-19,25-16,25-18) to top pool ‘B’ with six points after a similar victory against Katikamu, also from Uganda, on Friday, 16th September.
Kesogon Mixed secondary school thrashed Kajujumele Secondary school 3-0 (25-20, 25-8, and 25-12) to take the lead in pool ‘A’ with six points before today’s final preliminary match.
Kesogon are keen to maintain their impeccable record and finish first in their pool when they face IPRC Rwanda, who have so far won two matches in a row.
In the second last group ‘B’ match, Kwanthanze head coach Justin Kigwari desires a victory over Tanzania’s Mkalapa to secure a ticket for the semi finals slated for Thursday, 22nd September.
“By reaching the semi finals, we have won the battle but the war is far from over. We must finish the group matches with nine points. This will give us confidence as we head to Thursday’s semi-finals,” said Kigwari.
