Fear grips Ogembo as marauding gang kidnaps and rapes children

Residents of Ogembo town have been thrown into panic as unknown people raid the town, kidnapping children and beating up women late in the evening.

Reported to be dressed in police uniform, they seized a form two girl but later released her after gang-raping her in a thicket.

The weak girl who was left for dead at the roadside was rescued by cattle traders who took her to Tabaka Mission Hospital for treatment.

In another night incident, the strange men still dressed in police uniform attacked Ogembo Police Station and tried to break into the armoury but were repelled by police officers on duty.

However, Tendere Ward MCA James Ondari found it paradoxical that a gang could attack a police post and escape freely without being arrested.

“How could they attack armed police men without them being shot?” he wondered.

He asked the DCI to probe the policemen at the station.

A businessman Charles Mochama asked Interior CS Professor Kithure Kindiki to transfer all the police officers in Ogembo Police Station.
