KNUT Secretary General Collins Oyuu addressing the press at Kanduyi DEB Primary School after the Bungoma South branch by-election.

The Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) Secretary General Collins Oyuu has urged the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) to ensure the integrity and credibility of national examinations.

Oyuu said that the exams hold a lot of weight in the foundation of learners’ future, urging teachers to maintain vigilance against third parties that may distract candidates.

“Teachers let’s ensure every student gets the results they deserve,” he said.

He urged teachers to handle candidates appropriately and in case of any issues, they should report to security agencies.

“It’s upon teachers to understand that these candidates have had a lot of challenges including the teachers’ strike during the opening of third term and the Gen Z protests,” he noted.
