St Teresa Chakol Girls Senior School in Teso South Sub-County,Busia County has appointed a new principal, marking a leadership transition aimed at strengthening academic performance and institutional growth.
Madam Felistus Owaya has taken over the leadership of the school following the retirement of Madam Jessica Okochil, who exited public service on April 27, 2026, after years of stewardship at the institution.

The change comes at a critical time as schools in the region continue to push for improved academic outcomes and competitiveness. Madam Okochil is credited with maintaining stability and guiding the school through a period of steady progress during her tenure.

Madam Owaya joins St Teresa Chakol Girls with a reputation for delivering strong academic results. During her previous assignment at St Joseph’s Keriamata, she oversaw notable improvements in performance, positioning the school among better-performing institutions.
Her appointment is expected to inject fresh momentum into St Teresa Chakol Girls, with a focus on building on existing gains while introducing strategies to enhance academic standards and co-curricular development.
Her experience in school management and academic transformation will be instrumental in steering the institution forward.
