Bus company promises to support school sports in Kisii

Bus company Guardian coach and Gurdain supermarket promises to supports school sports.

Guardian Coach Limited and its sister brand, Guardian Supermarket have promised to support youth to utilise their sporting talents to enable them get sustainable income when they are in and after school.

“We as a transport and trade industry took a deliberate decision to support the sports sector as a way of investing in the youth who are the future of our country,” said the firm Manager Timothy Obwocha.

He was speaking at Nyamaiya sports ground during Nyamira South Secondary School Term Two Games Championships.

The manager told the youth to take sports seriously instead of regarding them as entertainment because they are part and parcel of the new Competency Based Curriculum.

Gekomonni Boys and Masosa Girls secondary schools were crowned Champions to represent Nyamira South at the County level in football.

Etono Boys fought all their way to beat Nyambaria National School and Ntana to be the volleyball Kings in sub county together with Nyakeore Girls.

In Netball, Sironga Girls National School will carry the sub county flag.

Rirumi mixed Secondary thrilled the fans winning netball title to enable them to proceed to the county.

Ina thrilling and well attended occasion, winning teams were awarded with trophies and cash.

Nyamira South Deputy County Commissioner Florence Obunga thanked the transport company for supporting sports and education in the region.

She assured the participating teachers and their teams of their security until the end of this sports season.
