Bomet University College principal promises to transform the institution

Newly appointed Bomet University College principal Charles Mutai.

The newly appointed Bomet University College Principal Charles Kipkirui Mutai has promised to transform the university and increase the number of students.

Mutai observed that he was aware of the heavy task ahead of him but was ready to tackle it for the benefit of the students and the local community. To achieve the goal, he revealed that additional teaching staff will be hired and new laboratories and hostels constructed.

“Through the support of stakeholders, I intend to transform this college. To achieve the goal, we will hire additional teaching staff and construct new laboratories,” he noted.

He pointed out that the institute has a huge capacity to and further appealed for concerted efforts to attain the goal.

Mutai urged locals to have confidence in the institution and embrace education, adding that it has the capacity to compete with other local and international institutions.

“Come to our university. Let us build our university and embrace education so that we can achieve development,” added Mutai.

University Council Chairperson Prof. Simon Mtemo welcomed the appointment of Mutai whom he says is well qualified, further urging all stakeholders to fully support him.

“Prof. Mutai comes with a rich background in academia. He is not here because he is a Kipsigis, he is here because he is a qualified Kenyan, although it is a very challenging task because this is a very young institution, we as council wish him the best of lack and we appreciate that the senior management, staff, the local community, the political leadership, the council and the county and national governments will provide all support to enable Mutai to accomplish the vision and mission of the university,” noted Mtemo.

Locals, led by Senator Hillary Sigey also expressed joy, promising to fully support the principal.
