Body of missing Moi Varsity graduate found dumped in forest in Kajiado

Body of missing Moi University graduate Lydia Tokesi has been found in a forest in Kajiado County.

Lydia Tokesi has been missing for the last one week and detectives have been pursuing crucial leads into her whereabouts.

The mutilated female body was found dumped in Gataka forest in Ongata Rongai with body parts missing.

Lydia’s family preliminarily identified the body on Sunday, January 12. The body had started decomposing and with the missing body parts.

According to the family the killer may have tortured her by cutting some body parts before she breathed her last.

Daniel Shikoli, Lydia’s brother said they are waiting for the DNA process to help identify the body, the suspect Joseph Philip Orwa was with Lydia last.

Orwa is a longtime boyfriend of the deceased, having dated for over eight years since their campus life at Moi University, he has been identified has the main suspect.

The suspect has been staying with Lydia until the January 4, when she was reported missing.

Police visited the suspect’s house and conducted a search where crucial evidence was recovered, among them several SIM cards, alcohol, Lydia’s clothes and shoes.

There was also a love letter that revealed the two had a struggling relationship. Police are critically analysing CCTV footage in the locality.

Lydia’s family has also revealed the secretive and only girl in her family, had taken a bank loan and purchased a motor vehicle for the suspected-killer boyfriend.

They revealed that the suspect worked with the vehicle as a taxi driver and had ditched the car a few kilometres from Lydia’s parent’s home. The vehicle had blood stains but Lydia’s lover is still in hiding.

Detectives are analysing data to apprehend the suspect responsible for Lydia’s tragic murder.
