An assistant chief in Nakuru County is being detained over allegations of defiling a minor.

The Kabianga Sub –Location based assistant chief, aged 42 years was apprehended by detectives from Kuresoi North, Nakuru County, after preliminary investigations pointed him as a main suspect alleged to have  sexually assaulted  a 4-year-old girl.

He was taken into custody after the minor reported the assault to her parents.

According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), the investigation was launched after the girl’s parents filed a report.

The DCI stated that the arrest followed a distressing complaint from the parents. Their daughter had experienced severe pain while urinating, which led them to seek further investigation.

“The arrest followed a harrowing report from the parents of a 4-year-old minor who had complained of severe pain while passing urine prompting her parents to investigate further,” the DCI said.

“To their horror, she revealed that she had been defiled by the suspect prompting the parents to immediately take her to Londiani Sub-County Hospital for medical examination and treatment.”

Following the report, the DCI swiftly commenced an investigation, leading to the suspect’s arrest. The man has since been charged and is currently held at Milimani GK Prison in Nakuru. His case is scheduled for mention on Thursday, July 25.
