Amus College School has emerged as the standout name in Uganda’s squad for the 2026 Federation of East Africa Secondary Schools Sports Association (FEASSSA) Games, qualifying in both the boys’ and girls’ football categories to headline a wide-ranging national delegation set for Morogoro, Tanzania.
The Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) unveiled its full list of qualified schools after wrapping up the national championships, confirming the teams that will represent the country across a broad spread of disciplines at this year’s regional showpiece.
In football, Amus College will be joined on the boys’ side by Bukedea Comprehensive School South, St Mary’s Boarding Secondary School Kitende, and Kyadondo Secondary School. The girls’ category will feature Rines Secondary School, Boni Consili Girls Vocational & Secondary School, St Noa Girls Secondary School Zana, alongside Amus College School.
Basketball duties will fall to a group of familiar regional campaigners, among them Amus College School, St Michael High School Sonde, St Mary’s Boarding Secondary School Kitende, St Noa Girls Secondary School Zana, and Nabisunsa Girls School, all of whom have built strong reputations in past regional competitions.
Uganda’s rugby representation spans multiple formats. Jinja Senior Secondary School, St Mary’s College Kisubi, and Namilyango College qualified for the Rugby 15s competition, while Makerere College School, Mbarara High School, and Busoga College Mwiri booked their places in the boys’ Rugby Sevens category. On the girls’ side, Jinja Secondary School, Nkoma Secondary School, and Kijjabwemi Secondary School will fly the flag in Rugby Sevens.
The country’s hockey contingent is similarly well stocked, led by Kakungulu Memorial School, which qualified both its boys’ and girls’ teams. They will be joined by Ntare School, King’s College Budo, Mt. St Mary’s College Namagunga, and Gayaza High School.

Netball selection features St Mary’s Boarding Secondary School Kitende, Buddo Secondary School, Hamdan Islamic School, and St Noa Girls Secondary School Zana, while boys’ volleyball duties go to Namugongo Vocational & Secondary School, Bukedea Comprehensive School, and St Jerome Secondary School Ndama.
Beyond these headline disciplines, Uganda’s delegation will also compete in handball, table tennis, lawn tennis, badminton, chess, scrabble, beach volleyball, beach soccer, cricket, baseball and softball, and lacrosse, reflecting the depth of the country’s investment in school sports across a wide array of codes.
With Uganda’s squad now finalised, focus shifts to the rest of the region as schools prepare for competition in Morogoro. Kenya, the defending overall FEASSSA champion following last year’s tournament in Kakamega, is expected to announce its own final team in the coming days as it seeks to defend its title.
The 2026 FEASSSA Games are set to bring together the region’s top secondary school athletes in what remains one of East Africa’s most prestigious school sporting events.
