The curtain came down on the 2026 Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) Nyanza Region Term Two Games with schools from across the region securing regional titles and qualifying for the national championships after outstanding performances in various disciplines.
Aluor Girls emerged as the regional champions in girls’ volleyball after a dominant campaign, while Masara High School clinched the boys’ volleyball title following an impressive run.
Asumbi Girls once again demonstrated their sporting prowess by winning the regional netball championship.
The school also captured the girls’ basketball 3×3 title to complete a remarkable double.
Nyakach Girls were crowned champions in girls’ football after an impressive tournament, while St. Mary’s Yala secured the boys’ football title to book their place at the national games.
Rugby and basketball
Sigoti Complex dominated the girls’ rugby sevens competition, while Cardinal Otunga High School lifted the boys’ rugby sevens trophy after a series of outstanding performances.
Agoro Sare High School completed the list of champions by winning the boys’ basketball 3×3 title.

The regional championships highlighted the growing standard of school sports in Nyanza, with the newly crowned champions now turning their attention to the KSSSA National Term Two Games.
