Football fans in Trans Nzoia County are set for a high-stakes showdown today at Transcend Stadium, Cherangany Sub-County as St. Joseph’s Boys Kitale, the current national champions, face St. Anthony’s Boys Kitale, former national champions, in the county football final.

The much-anticipated fixture brings together two of Kenya’s most successful school football powerhouses, raising expectations of a fiercely competitive encounter with pride, history and regional supremacy on the line.

Both sides have dominated school football at different periods and today’s clash is expected to add another memorable chapter to their rivalry.

The final was initially disrupted during earlier proceedings, forcing sports officials to intervene and restore order within the competition structure.

Following consultations, authorities have confirmed that the match will go ahead today at Transcend stadium under strict security arrangements and enhanced supervision to ensure discipline is maintained throughout the contest.

Goseta Boys High School has been directed to shoulder the cost of damages incurred during the disruption, while teachers alleged to have played a role in planning the incident have been referred to the Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) for possible disciplinary action.

Officials say the measures are aimed at safeguarding the integrity of school sports and preventing future interruptions.

On the pitch, attention now shifts fully to the battle between two giants.
