Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers’ (KUPPET) Baringo branch has called on Teachers Service Commission (TSC) to consult with key education Stakeholders before head teachers are transferred.
KUPPET warned that they will rally its members to demonstrate and show their dissatisfaction over the directive.
Speaking to Education News in his office, Acting Executive Secretary Mr. Christopher Kimosop said that delocalisation of teachers has affected learning in institutions as transfers are carried out in the middle of the term.
He said affected teachers have undergone a lot of frustrations due to separation with their families to far flung areas.
“In fact School Principals, Deputy Principals, Head Teachers and their Deputies and Senior teachers who are about to retire should not be transferred but should be allowed to teach in their current schools as they prepare to retire,” noted Kimosop
The Executive Secretary urged TSC to employ more teachers in order to avoid understaffing in schools.
