Preparations for the 2026 KPSEA, KJSEA and KCSE examinations in West Pokot County have entered the final phase.
Quality Assurance and Standards Officer Philemon Rop confirmed the preparations and outlined requirements for teachers, learners and education officials ahead of the examinations.
Rop said schools are expected to complete syllabus coverage, conduct targeted revision and address identified learning gaps.
He said teachers are expected to provide targeted support to candidates, maintain professional standards and adhere to examination guidelines.
He said learners are expected to attend school consistently, participate in revision and observe examination regulations. He urged candidates to avoid examination malpractice.

The examination schedule is as follows:
KPSEA candidates will have their rehearsal on October 23, with the assessment starting on October 26.
KJSEA theory papers will start on October 26, following earlier project components.
KCSE candidates will have their rehearsal on October 16, with theory examinations running from October 19 to November 20.
In West Pokot, examination administration also involves logistical considerations related to terrain, long distances and road access.
The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has listed West Pokot among counties that may be affected by weather-related disruptions during the examination period. KNEC has outlined contingency measures covering storage and transportation of examination materials and emergency response.

Schools, education officials, security agencies and parents are expected to coordinate to facilitate the administration of the examinations.
Parents and guardians are expected to support candidates’ attendance, provision of learning materials and adherence to school programmes.
Education officials have emphasised the need to observe examination rules and procedures to ensure a fair and orderly process.
