- Bwake Boys Senior School has been elevated to Category One (C1) national school status, marking a major milestone for the institution.
Bwake Boys Senior School has officially joined the ranks of Category One (C1) national schools, marking a significant milestone in the institution’s growth and expanding its prospects for attracting learners from across the country.
The elevation was marked on Thursday when area MP Patrick Simiyu Barasa visited the school to celebrate the new status with the administration, teachers and learners.
The development has been welcomed by the school community, which described the elevation as a recognition of the institution’s progress and the concerted efforts of various stakeholders. School officials said the new status comes with greater responsibility as the institution seeks to meet the standards expected of a national school.
The school community also acknowledged the contribution of teachers, learners, parents, the Board of Management and other stakeholders who have played a role in Bwake Boys’ growth.

Chief Principal John Masinde is expected to spearhead the institution’s next phase as it adjusts to the demands and opportunities associated with its new classification. Under the new status, the school is expected to strengthen its academic programmes while enhancing co-curricular activities, talent development, discipline and learner welfare.
The elevation is also likely to raise the school’s profile beyond the local community and increase its appeal to families seeking national-school opportunities for their children.
Speaking during the celebrations, stakeholders expressed confidence in the school’s leadership and urged the administration to build on the gains that have culminated in the elevation.
