The Vokoli Girls High School community in Lurambi, Kakamega County, is mourning the death of a Form Three student who reportedly died following a night attack by unknown assailants.
The student, identified as Laura, died at Korromatangi village in Lurambi after she was allegedly attacked during the night. The circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear as police commence investigations to establish what happened and identify those responsible.
Her death has sent shockwaves through the school and the wider community, with her family, classmates, teachers and friends left grieving the sudden loss.
Residents call for swift investigations
Local residents have called for swift investigations and increased security in the area, particularly at night, amid concerns over the safety of residents.
Police and local administrators are expected to pursue leads that could help unravel the circumstances surrounding the attack and bring the perpetrators to justice.
