- Kenyan secondary school teams have faced a busy fixture list on Match Day Four of the 23rd FEASSA Games in Morogoro.
- Kenyan sides have competed across rugby, hockey, volleyball, handball, basketball and 3×3 basketball against teams from Uganda, Tanzania and Rwanda.
- Kinale Secondary School has entered Day Four with momentum after securing the East Africa girls’ rugby sevens title.
Kenyan schools will face a busy programme on Monday as the 23rd Federation of East Africa Secondary Schools Sports Association (FEASSA) Games enter Match Day Four in Morogoro, Tanzania, with teams from Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Rwanda battling for places in the knockout stages.
The day features action in rugby, hockey, volleyball, handball, basketball and 3×3 basketball, with several Kenyan representatives facing important tests against regional opponents.
In rugby 15s, Jinja Secondary School of Uganda will take on St Mary’s Kisubi, while Kenya’s St Mary’s Yala will meet Uganda’s Namiryango College. Upper Hill Secondary will face Kisii High School in an all-Kenyan contest, while Kinale Secondary School, competing in the Girls Under-15 category, will play Tanzania’s Murongoine Secondary School.
Kinale enter the contest with confidence after an impressive campaign in rugby sevens, where they have already secured the East Africa girls’ title following a strong run in the competition.

The rugby sevens programme will also feature Kenyan sides Butula against Mbarara High School of Uganda, Cardinal Otunga against Makerere College, and Bokoli Boys against Busoga College. Bokoli Boys will face Makerere College later in the programme, while Cardinal Otunga will also meet Busoga College.
Hockey will provide another major attraction, with Kenyan girls’ teams St Joseph Kitale and Ng’iya Girls scheduled for action. St Joseph Kitale will face St Mary’s College Uganda at 9 am, while Ng’iya Girls meet Tanzania’s Benjamin Mkapa at 10:30 am. Nyamira Girls of Uganda will play Kakungulu, before Arusha Meru face Gayaza High School.
In the boys’ hockey competition, St Anthony’s of Kenya will face Ntare of Uganda at 9 am, while Benjamin Mkapa will meet Mbarara High School. Arusha Meru will later play Kakungulu.
Volleyball will see Kenya’s Kesogon girls take on Mengele at 10 am, while Matiliku boys face Nyanza at noon. Lumala will play Bukedea, St Jerome will meet Chepsaita, and Ecole Technique Etincelante will face Namugongo.
Handball will also keep Kenyan supporters engaged. Moi Girls Kamusinga will play Wampeeweo Ntaake of Uganda, while St Joseph’s Girls Kitale face Tanzania’s Diongoya at 2 pm. In the boys’ competition, Matutu Memorial will take on Kikuyu, while St Joseph’s Boys Kitale face Kilombero at noon.
Basketball action includes Kenyan representatives Lukensya School and Kaya Kiwi Secondary in the 5-on-5 competitions. Lukensya will meet St Michael High School of Uganda in the boys’ category, while Kaya Kiwi Secondary will face Uganda’s St Mary’s Kitende in the girls’ competition.

The 3×3 basketball programme will also feature several Kenyan teams. Cheptil Girls will face Orkeswa of Tanzania before meeting St Joseph Kitale later in the day. Ikutha Girls will play St Joseph Kitale and ESB Kamonyi of Rwanda.
In the boys’ 3×3 competition, Agoro Sare will face Pamba of Tanzania before meeting Itigi Boys later in the afternoon, while St Mary’s Yala will also take on Itigi Boys.
With the competition entering a decisive stage, Monday’s fixtures will be critical for teams seeking to strengthen their positions and keep their championship hopes alive.
The Morogoro Games have brought together thousands of secondary school athletes from across East Africa, providing a major platform for young talent to compete at regional level and showcase the depth of school sport in the region.
