Masii businessman Robert Wambua has continued to invest in education by sponsoring dozens of learners and constructing a school for vulnerable children in Masii Ward, Mwala Sub-county.
Popularly known as Sikuku, Mr Wambua said he has sponsored 52 students from the community through international scholarship programmes that support them up to university level.
“The scholarships run up to university level,” Mr Wambua said during an interview in Machakos Town.
Giving back through education
Beyond scholarships, the businessman has purchased land and is constructing a school for needy children in Masii.
“I have decided to give back to the community that educated me by sponsoring children and building a school for the community,” he said.
Mr Wambua, who has also supplied laptops to schools across Masii Ward, said he has accepted calls from residents to vie for the Masii Ward seat in the next election.
“The only way to transform a society is through education,” he said, adding that he hopes to join the county leadership and continue improving education programmes.

Community members have praised Mr Wambua’s efforts, saying his investment in education is already transforming the lives of many learners in Masii Ward.
