The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has officially opened the application window for the September 2026 intake at the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC), setting in motion one of the country’s largest medical admissions exercises. The announcement offers thousands of aspiring healthcare professionals a chance to secure places in certificate, diploma and higher diploma programmes across KMTC’s nationwide campuses.
Applications for pre-service programmes are now live on the KUCCPS Student Portal and will remain open until August 11, 2026.
Practising healthcare workers seeking to upgrade their qualifications have been directed to apply through the KMTC Admissions Portal, which caters specifically to in-service and upgrading programmes. The intake follows shortly after KMTC students completed their Final Qualifying and End-of-Semester examinations, paving the way for the admission of a new cohort expected to report later this year.
The launch of the intake comes against the backdrop of a recent crackdown on fake admission notices. KMTC had earlier warned the public about fraudulent posters circulating on social media, which falsely claimed that admissions were open for courses such as Clinical Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Medical Laboratory Sciences, Radiography and Public Health. The institution urged applicants to ignore unofficial announcements and stressed that all authentic information is communicated only through KUCCPS and KMTC’s official platforms.

A wide range of medical courses are on offer in the September intake, including Nursing, Clinical Medicine, Pharmacy, Medical Laboratory Sciences, Radiography, Nutrition and Dietetics, Public Health, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy and Community Health. These programmes are designed to equip graduates with practical skills for service in hospitals, dispensaries, health centres, research institutions and community health programmes nationwide.
KMTC continues to play a pivotal role in strengthening Kenya’s healthcare workforce, producing thousands of professionals annually who form the backbone of service delivery in both public and private facilities.
