A form four student from Nyongores secondary school in Ndaraweta ward, Bomet County is battling pain, trauma and uncertainty after a violent incident that has left her seriously injured and unable to walk without assistance.
The student, identified as Fancy Chepngetich, is a candidate preparing for this year’s KCSE examinations. Instead of focusing on her studies and future ambitions, she now finds herself fighting for recovery from injuries sustained in an alleged assault that has shocked residents of Nyongores and the surrounding community.
According to family members and local residents, Fancy had been trying to cope with challenges that no child should have to face. They say she became pregnant while still in school and had been struggling to continue with her education amid difficult circumstances.
