Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro links school unrest to pressure from second-term calendar

Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro addresses students during the Kiharu Masomo Bora Students Career Fair 2026 at Maragi Secondary School in Murang’a East Sub-county. Nyoro called on the Ministry of Education to review the second-term school calendar following rising cases of student unrest and school fires, arguing that prolonged school sessions may be placing excessive pressure on learners, particularly those in boarding schools. He proposed additional mid-term breaks, visiting days, and other interventions to support learner wellbeing and reduce tension in schools.
