Onjiko Boys turns to solar energy to cut electricity costs, curb frequent power interruptions

Onjiko Boys Senior School, in Kisumu County, has taken a bold step toward sustainable and reliable energy after the institution officially began transitioning from dependence on Kenya Power to a full solar energy supply system.

According to school Chief Principal, Gordon Muga, the ambitious project is expected to provide a stable energy supply across the institution, helping to cut down on frequent power interruptions while also lowering electricity costs in the long run.

The school administrator believe the move will enhance learning, improve efficiency in school operations, and support modern digital education programs.

Speaking during the project rollout, school stakeholders welcomed the initiative, terming it a timely investment that positions the institution among schools embracing clean and renewable energy solutions.
