Homa Bay mourns Ratang’a Girls principal Mildred Ngesa

Homa Bay County is mourning after the death of Ratang’a Girls’ High School Chief Principal Mildred Ngesa, who died after a short illness.

Led by Governor Gladys Wanga, the county expressed its condolences, eulogizing Madam Ngesa  as a supportive head of institution.

In a statement on Monday, May 25, Wanga said she was saddened by the passing of the principal, who had worked closely with the county government during the Governor’s Girls’ Mentorship Camp initiative.

“Madam Ngesa was a supportive Head of Institution in our program, the Governor’s Girls’ Mentorship Camp, hosting the last year’s edition where she played a key role in the overall success of the program,” she said.

Wanga also conveyed her condolences to the school community and the education sector following the principal’s death.

“To her family, the students, staff, and parents of Ratang’a Girls’ High School, as well as the entire education fraternity, please accept my sincere condolences and those of the entire County Government of Homa Bay,” she added.

While confirming her demise on Sunday, May 24, Ndhiwa Member of Parliament (MP) Martin Owino also mourned the educator as a distinguished administrator who served with dignity, integrity, and exceptional devotion to education

“We mourn the passing of Chief Principal Madam Mildred Ngesa of Ratang’a Girls Secondary School, a distinguished administrator who served with dignity, integrity, and exceptional devotion to education. Her exemplary leadership and unwavering commitment to academic excellence left an indelible mark on Ndhiwa and beyond. Her demise is a profound loss to the education fraternity and the entire community. May her soul rest in eternal peace and may her family and loved ones find strength during this moment of grief,” Owino said.
