Ingotse High School in Kakamega County has reportedly recalled only football players back for training ahead of the 2026 Navakholo sub-county secondary school ball games set to kick off this week, just a week after students went on strike following a fire incident at the institution
The move has already sparked conversations across Navakholo, with other students expected to remain at home until further notice as preparations for the tournament intensify.
Ingotse High School is considered one of the strong teams in the competition and has now shifted focus to polishing its squad before the opening matches.
Meanwhile, drama is also unfolding at Chebuyusi Boys High School where students are reportedly on strike over food complaints.
According to reactions circulating among students and fans, learners claimed the food portions were too small, with some jokingly comparing the situation to Arsenal football club’s struggles, comments that have amused many online.

As excitement builds, the official pools for the Navakholo sub-county Slsoccer boys competition have already been released.
Pool A consists of Chebayusi, Burangasi, Sirigoi, Lwakhupa, and Kizito Boys, while Pool B features Ingotse High School, Nderema, Navakholo, Nang’anda and Emulakha.
Football fans are now eagerly waiting for the action to begin, with many expecting intense rivalries and thrilling encounters throughout the tournament.
Even as preparations continue, the cause of the fire incident at Ingotse High School remains under investigation, keeping the school at the center of attention ahead of the games.
