The presidential directive to have all school going pupils go to school has seen Faza primary school have an increment of 300 pupils.
The school that had 400 pupils last year had soared to 700 following president Uhuru Kenyatta’s directive to have all children to go to school.
Speaking to Education News, the school’s head teacher said that the directive will improve education in Lamu East sub-county.
He said that education in the area has not been taken seriously leading to high poverty levels among many families.
Area Member of County Assembly Fahad Adnan said that the directive should be followed to the latter.
Fahad went on to say that the Swahili people have a notion that they are poor yet they do not embrace education urging parents to embrace education.
