Moved by the harsh learning environment during her initial visit, First Lady Rachael Ruto has officially launched major development projects at Unoa Comprehensive School aimed at improving education standards.
The First Lady pledged to transform the school by ensuring permanent access to clean water through the sinking of a borehole, establishing a school kitchen garden, and upgrading the playing field by planting grass to reduce dust and heat.
During the launch event held on Thursday, Rachael Ruto unveiled the completed projects, including renovated classrooms. She also distributed 1,716 pairs of shoes to learners and provided food supplies to support the school feeding program.
Speaking at the event, the First Lady emphasised the government’s commitment to investing in children through school feeding programs, digital learning, improved infrastructure, and access to clean water.
She further encouraged partnerships between the government, development partners, and the private sector to enhance learning environments across Kenya.

Rachael Ruto thanked the Dawoodi Bohra community for supporting classroom renovations, noting that their contribution has restored dignity and improved accessibility for all learners, including those with special needs.
The Head of Institution, Winfred Sila, expressed gratitude to the First Lady and partners for giving the school a new facelift, creating a more conducive learning environment.
