Residents of Narok town are mourning the passing of a respected educator, Margaret Murigu, a long-serving teacher who dedicated her life to shaping young minds across the region.
According to the family, Murigu passed away on Wednesday, April 21, 2026, and will be laid to rest tomorrow, April 29, in Narok.
Murigu, who taught in several schools including St. Peters, St. Mary’s, Masikonde and Mashariani Primary Schools, is remembered as a passionate and committed teacher whose influence touched generations of learners in Narok County.

She was also an active member of the Presbyterian Church of East Africa Women’s Guild, where she played a key role in faith-based and community activities.
Family members, friends and well-wishers are currently gathering daily at her residence in Narok town from 6:00 pm to 11:00 pm for funeral arrangements.
Leaders, colleagues, and former students have continued to send messages of condolence, describing Murigu as a pillar in the education sector whose legacy will endure for years to come.
