Kisii University is in deep mourning following the tragic death of an English Literature fourth year student who was reportedly electrocuted by a naked live wire at her off-campus hostel.
The students identified as Mercy Langat, was electrocuted while washing clothes around her resident.
Her death has hard hit her family and friends who mourned her as a hardworking and friendly lady.

“It is heartbreaking that after years of struggle, sacrifice, and hard work, her story ended this way. We extend our deepest condolences to her family, friends, and loved ones during this painful time. May they find strength and comfort in this great loss.”
Another friend, wrote, “What a painful and heartbreaking morning for the parents of Mercy from Chebunyo, a Kisii University student whose life has been cut short so tragically. A young soul, full of dreams and promise, taken away at the very edge of success.”
