The Kenya Junior School Teachers Association (KEJUSTA) has officially launched a nationwide membership drive to consolidate the voice of junior school teachers across Kenya.
Through the campaign, the association is calling on educators to unite and take an active role in protecting their profession, influencing policy decisions and securing their future under the Competency-Based Education (CBE).
The drive is anchored on the belief that meaningful change in the education sector begins with collective action.
“A strong voice for junior school teachers starts with you,” states the campaign message, highlighting the importance of solidarity among teachers at a time when the education system continues to undergo structural and administrative reforms.
KEJUSTA says the membership drive seeks to build a formidable and organised body that can advocate for fair deployment, improved working conditions, professional recognition and clear career progression pathways for junior school teachers.
The association further emphasises the need for teachers to have structured representation in national education discussions that directly affect their roles and welfare.
