Lugari Member of Parliament (MP) Nabii Nabwera on Thursday presided over the release of the Lugari Constituency Joint Evaluation Test (JET 1) results at Lukhokho Girls Senior School, in an event that brought together key education stakeholders from across the region.
The joint assessment, which targets senior secondary schools in the constituency, is part of ongoing efforts to improve academic performance and strengthen quality assurance in the education sector.
Addressing the gathering, the MP underscored the importance of sustained investment in education, describing it as a critical driver of social and economic transformation in Lugari. He challenged school administrators to take a proactive role in raising academic standards through collaboration and effective leadership.
Nabwera urged principals, deputy principals, and Directors of Studies from the 54 senior schools in the constituency to leverage their collective expertise and remain focused on delivering improved results.

The meeting was attended by education officials led by Dr. Jaluo Murunga, who also chairs the Lugari Education Advisory Council and the UASU Eldoret University Chapter. The presence of institutional leaders highlighted the growing emphasis on coordinated approaches to education management within the constituency.
At the same time, the legislator issued a strong appeal to parents and guardians to take greater responsibility for their children during the school holiday. He warned against unsupervised movement to markets and other public spaces, noting the potential risks such exposure may pose to learners.
Nabwera further called for heightened vigilance among families to protect children from all forms of harm, including exploitation and abuse.
He emphasized that the success of education initiatives in Lugari will depend not only on institutional efforts but also on active parental involvement and community responsibility.
