Teachers urged to invest in insurance policies to enhance their protection

The Insurance Regulatory Authority (IRA) has called upon teachers across the Western region to invest in insurance policies to protect themselves against uncertainties in the future.

Speaking during the 4th day of the regulators Bima Mashinani initiative workshops in Kakamega, the IRA director Prof Joel Chemiron said that the teaching fraternity should embrace the culture of insurance not only as a life guard but a tool of elevating their lifestyle.

The Bima Mashinani initiative workshops, spearheaded by the Authority is targeting different groups including the national government administration officers (NGAO), Kenya National Union of Teachers  (KNUT), Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET), Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI), Persons Living with Disabilities (PLWD)’s, farmers, youth and women.

It aims to sensitise the local communities on the importance of insurance policies.
