Kenya Private School Owners Association, Kisii Branch, is urging parents to spend quality time with their children during midterm break, listening to their experiences and showing parental warmth.
Speaking at Kireni SDA church, chairman Zachary Onduso emphasised the need for parents to support grade 10 students as they adjust to their new educational journey.

“Receive them with warmth and good food to make them feel appreciated,” he said. Onduso asked parents and teachers to monitor students’ moods and help them fit into their social environment.
He cautioned adults to be mindful of their behaviour, like smoking or drinking, as youths may copy these habits.
Area assistant chief Edwin Machani advised parents in Nyabitunwa Sublocation, Kenyenya Subcounty, to take precautions during the rainy season. He urged them to keep children warm, avoid walking in the rain, and steer clear of flooding rivers to prevent cold-related diseases and accidents.
