Be vigilant on projects being undertaken at your TVET colleges, PS tells principals

The Principal Secretary, of the State Department for Technical, Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Dr. Esther Muoria, has urged heads of technical institutions to be extremely vigilant in monitoring projects being undertaken within their learning institutions

Speaking at Kisumu National Polytechnic during a tour of the cotton hub, Dr Muoria said such vigilance will ensure accountability in the use  fund being allocated to every institution.

The PS further pointed out structural commissions at the facility saying that the sub-contractor has had his contracts terminated and the Ksh40 million retention fee which is under the custody of the government will be used in sorting out the defects caused in the project.

She advised the polytechnic management to start admitting students at the new faculty so that they can start earning incomes from it.

The Chief principal Catherine Kelonye said most aspects of the project are complete, noting that new students will soon be admitted

A community mobilizer Sospeter Obungu said farmers are eager to start planting cotton for use in the hub.
