Spain-based RC Celta B head coach Fredi Álvarez has expressed high hopes for former St Anthony Boys High School and Harambee Stars midfielder Aldrine Kibet praising the Kenyan talent for his skill and potential to shine at the Spanish club.

Speaking about Kibet, Álvarez said, “I think he really stands out. In the first days when he arrived, he attracted a lot of attention in terms of his level and his ability. I think Kibet’s adaptation will be a bit simpler and easier than that of the others because he’s a guy who has already been in Spain, who already knows the language and more or less understands us. So I think it will be a little easier for him. But we all expect a lot from him.”

The 22-year-old Kibet, who has already made waves in the Kenyan national team setup, has returned to Spain eager to impress.

However, Álvarez noted that the midfielder is currently dealing with a knee issue that has affected his training.

“He’s dealing with a knee problem, which is bothering him in training, and he’s not training completely smoothly yet. We have to have patience and stay calm, because I think he’s a player who can give Celta many glorious afternoons,” the coach added.

Kibet’s return to Spain is seen as a crucial step in his development. Having previously spent time in the country, the young midfielder is expected to integrate quickly into the team and make a mark in the competitive Spanish setup.

RC Celta B fans will be keeping a close eye on Kibet as he works to regain full fitness and demonstrate why he is considered one of Kenya’s brightest footballing talents.
