The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has condemned the brutal murder of Stephen Vundi Musili, a teacher at Hulugho Primary School in Garissa County, who was attacked and killed on January 26, by suspected Al-Shabaab militants.
In a statement issued, TSC acting CEO Eveleen Mitei strongly condemned the killing, terming it a heinous and cowardly act of terror that not only claimed the life of a young teacher but also undermines the right to education, peace and security for both teachers and learners.
Mitei said the commission is committed to the safety and welfare of teachers and assured the public that it takes the security of its employees seriously.
“On behalf of the Commission and the entire teaching fraternity, TSC extended its deepest condolences to the family, relatives, colleagues and learners of the late Stephen Vundi Musili, ” she said.
