The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has officially released the promotional interview dates for teachers and Curriculum Support Officers (CSOs) in the 2025/2026 financial year where the Commission planned to promote 21,313 teachers.
According to TSC circular dated September 11, 2025, signed by Acting Secretary/CEO Eveleen Mitei and addressed to all TSC Regional, County and Sub-county Directors, the Commission has shortlisted a total of 64, 619 teachers who will be interviewed to fill the promotional vacancy positions.
Primary school candidates will face interview panels from October 6 to 10, where a total of 47,449 have been shortlisted to fill various promotional positions from Grade C2 TO D1.
Post primary and CSOs who will face county interview panels from 13th to 24th October(10 days) where a total of 12,510 and 4,660 teachers have been shortlisted to fill promotional positions from Grade C3 TO D2 (County levels) and Grades C5 to D5 (Regional levels) respectively.

Shortlisted candidates will receive official invitations starting 16th September, detailing the date, time, venue, and required documents, with a minimum of seven days’ notice. TSC has assured that all venues will be accessible to candidates with disabilities.
The exercise covers positions ranging from Senior Head-teachers, Deputy Principals, Senior Teachers, Principals, to Curriculum Support Officers.
The Commission has also confirmed that teachers previously holding administrative positions will be given fair consideration, ensuring a merit-based and transparent promotion process.
