Women’s and youth groups in Machakos received assorted items as part of an empowerment initiative from the National Government Affirmative Action Fund (NGAAF) under the patronage of County Woman Representative Ms Joyce Kamene Kasimbi on Friday, August 29, 2025.
Ten groups drawn from Machakos Town Sub-county received various items, including water tanks, business umbrellas, apparel, sufurias, serving spoons, Chairs, tents, and egg incubators.
Kasimbi, who was flanked by her counterparts, Irene Kasalu (Kitui County) and Rose Museo (Makueni), said the items will help the groups start various businesses, such as catering and hiring during events.
Ms Kasimbi defended the NGAAF, saying it had brought fundamental transformation in the grassroots and should be enhanced to reach more groups.
“NGAAF is really empowering our people. Let the fund be enhanced and remain at the office of the Woman Rep,” said Kasimbi.
