Kaimosi Friends University hosts high-level seminar on globalization, strategic growth

Kaimosi Friends University has taken a decisive step toward expanding its global footprint with a high-level Seminar on internationalisation and Strategic Growth, held on Wednesday, July 13, 2025, at the campus.

The event brought together diplomats, leading academics, and members of the University Senate to discuss strategies for positioning the institution as a competitive player in the global higher education landscape.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Peter Mwita opened the seminar with a strong message on the university’s future direction. “We are creating strong bridges between local expertise and global innovation, ensuring that our students, staff, and research outputs are part of the global conversation,” he said.

Keynote speaker Prof. Bosire Monari, Chair of Council at the University of Kabianga, called for global engagement to be embedded across the university’s curriculum, research programs, and partnerships.

Ms. Charity Kabaya, Trade Commissioner for Education at the Canadian High Commission, highlighted opportunities in academic exchanges, collaborative research, and cultural diplomacy, stressing that such collaborations can enrich both institutional capacity and student experience.

The seminar discussions focused on strengthening research infrastructure to attract international funding, launching industry-linked innovation hubs, expanding student and faculty exchange programs, and securing access to global innovation and education grants.
